📍 Check in with Corinthia Pass
In the Asopos valley, between Nemea and Sikyon, stood Phlius — an independent city-state that held its own ground among far more powerful neighbours.
What you will see
The site preserves remains of the agora, a theatre cut into the hillside, and stretches of the fortifications and acropolis. It is not a developed visitor site with facilities, and precisely for that reason it keeps a stillness that has become rare.
Vineyards spread all around: the same valley that today feeds Nemea with Agiorgitiko was cultivated in antiquity too.
Practical notes
- Near the modern village of Nemea.
- Open ground with no facilities — carry water with you.
- Combine it with Ancient Nemea and the wineries of the area.
