Stymphalia is the other face of Corinthia: altitude, mountains and a lake instead of the sea. The wetland is protected and ranks among the most important habitats in the Peloponnese.
Myth and history
This is the setting of the sixth labour of Heracles, the destruction of the Stymphalian Birds. The same area holds the ruins of ancient Stymphalos with its walls and the temple of Artemis, and Zaraka Monastery, one of the very few Gothic monasteries in Greece.
