The Corinthian Gulf faces west, which makes sunsets on the Perachora peninsula and in Loutraki especially beautiful: the sun goes down over the water, with the mountains of Central Greece across the gulf. The Melagkavi lighthouse, next to the Heraion of Perachora, is the best known; Lake Vouliagmeni and the village of Perachora are close by. On the main beach of Loutraki and at Kalamia you can wait for the sunset with a drink in hand. To catch it, arrive at least half an hour early and check the sunset time for your date. The road to the lighthouse has bends, so drive carefully on the way back in the dark.
