Throfari is one of the small mountain villages you pass climbing from Xylokastro into the highlands. It occupies a position with an open view over the Corinthian Gulf and the mountains of the far shore.
Its character
A quiet settlement of stone houses with few permanent residents, coming strongly to life at festivals and in summer when the families return. Forest and cultivated land spread all around.

- Stop for coffee with a view on the road up to Trikala.
- Walk the paths around the village.
- Explore the neighbouring villages of Zemeno and Riza.
