Assos is one of the seaside villages spread west of Corinth along the Corinthian Gulf. It is close to the city, yet far enough to keep its own unhurried rhythm.
What you will find
The beach is long, a mix of pebble and sand, and runs on towards the neighbouring villages. There are tavernas and cafes at the water edge, while behind the settlement stretch the cultivated fields of the fertile Corinthian plain.
It is a good example of what this coast offers: a swim without the crowds, a meal by the sea, and the ancient sites only minutes away.
Practical notes
- About 10 km west of Corinth.
- Ancient Corinth and Lechaion are very close by.
- Ideal for an afternoon swim after visiting the archaeological sites.
