Oligyrtos rises where Corinthia, the Argolid and Arcadia come together. It is a mountain without tourist infrastructure, spare in its landscape and utterly quiet — the opposite of coastal Corinthia.
The landscape
Slopes of low vegetation, grazing land, stone and open horizons. The ridges give views towards Stymphalia on one side and the Arcadian plateau on the other.
What to do
- Hiking on old shepherds paths and forest tracks.
- Watching birds of prey, which are common here.
- Combining it with Lake Stymphalia and the surrounding villages.
Practical notes
- Reached from Stymphalia or the mountain villages of the area.
- Routes are unmarked — take a map and GPS.
- Best seasons: spring and autumn.
