Ancient Kechreai stands within the archaeological area of Kechries, about a two-minute walk away.

On the Saronic Gulf, just south of the Isthmus, lay Corinth eastern harbour. From Kechreai ships sailed for Asia, Egypt and the eastern Mediterranean.
What you will see
What makes this site unusual is that much of the harbour now lies under water: sea level rose, and the moles, warehouses and buildings are visible in shallow water a few metres from the shore. On a calm day their outlines are strikingly clear.
Kechreai also holds a place in Christian history: according to the Acts of the Apostles, Saint Paul passed through here. It is from this same harbour that the unique glass panels now displayed in the Archaeological Museum of Isthmia were recovered.
