Corinthia is the most easily reached part of the Peloponnese. From Athens it takes about an hour.
By car
The usual way. Athens to Corinth is roughly 85 km on the Olympia Odos motorway (A8). There are tolls along the route. From Corinth, roads run out to every corner of the region.
A car is essentially necessary if you want to see the mountains, the castles or the remoter beaches — public transport does not reach them.
By train (Proastiakos)
The suburban railway links Athens and the airport with Corinth and Kiato. It is the most comfortable option if you have no car and are staying in a town on the line. Check current timetables before travelling — they change by season.
By bus (KTEL)
There are regular services from Athens to Corinth, Loutraki, Kiato and Xylokastro, departing from the Kifissos terminal. Services to the villages are infrequent.
