Pellini carries one of the oldest names in the area: ancient Pellene was an Achaean city-state that controlled the mountain route into the northern Peloponnese. The modern village lies in the same upland zone.
Its character
A settlement of stone houses at altitude, looking out to the sea and the surrounding mountains. The area is rich in water and greenery, with cultivation climbing the slopes.

Mountain routes towards Evrostina and Karya, while heading downhill brings you quickly to the coast at Xylokastro and Lykoporia.

Until 1930 the village was called Zougra.
