Inside the archaeological site of Ancient Corinth, just steps from the Temple of Apollo, the Archaeological Museum holds the richest finds from the city’s excavations.
The building
The museum was built in 1931–1932 to designs by architect Stuart Thomson, by the American School of Classical Studies, thanks to a donation from Ada Small Moore. The west wing was added in 1951.
What to see
The collections span the whole life of Corinth: prehistoric vases, Corinthian pottery, sculpture and inscriptions from the Roman city, finds from the Asklepieion and Byzantine objects. The famous Corinthian vases and the Roman portraits stand out.
Practical info
The museum runs together with the archaeological site (usually closed on Tuesdays; winter hours 08:30–15:30). One ticket covers both site and museum.
