straight-line distances
Korfos is a naturally sheltered bay in south-eastern Corinthia, where the coast turns steep and the pines come right down to the water. Its name says it all: it is a gulf within a gulf.
What you will find
A small settlement around the harbour, a row of fish tavernas at the water edge, and dozens of boats at anchor — Korfos is a well-known anchorage for sailors because of how well it is protected from the wind.
The water is calm and deep, ideal for swimming and for short boat trips to the empty coves nearby.
Practical notes
- About 45 km from Corinth, via Sofiko.
- The road winds, but the drive is worth it.
- The best choice in the area for a long lunch by the sea.
