Gonousa is a small mountain village of Sikyonia, south of Kiato. It belongs to the line of settlements spread across the hinterland, away from the tourist coast.
Its character
Life here has traditionally rested on stock-raising and farming. The population is small and the settlement keeps its shape: a square, a church, stone houses and lanes that end in the fields.
Like many villages in the area, Gonousa changed its name during the 20th century — it was formerly known by a different name, something common across rural Greece.
Practical notes
- Reached from Kiato on a mountain road.
- No tourist facilities — a quiet destination.
- Combine it with Titani, Klimenti and the other Sikyonia villages.
