Vrachati beach lies on the Corinthian Gulf, ten kilometres east of Corinth, roughly halfway between Corinth and Kiato.

What to expect

A shore of fine shingle mixed with sand, and clear, still water. The Corinthian Gulf has almost no swell, so on summer mornings the sea looks more like a lake — no currents, which makes it an easy choice if you have small children.

There are organised stretches with beach bars, and plenty of open shore where you can simply put your towel down. Tavernas run along the seafront, mostly through the summer, serving fresh fish and local wine.

When to come

June and early September are the best months. July and August bring a fair number of people from Corinth and Athens, though never overwhelmingly so. The water stays warm into October.

Getting there

Ten minutes by car from Corinth. The village has no nightlife — you come here to swim, have lunch, and walk by the water.
