visitcorinthia.comLake Vouliagmeni Beach (Heraion)

Lake Vouliagmeni — also known as the Heraion lake — is an almost enclosed lagoon on the Perachora peninsula, joined to the Corinthian Gulf through a single narrow channel.
Why it stands out
The water is calm almost always, even when it is blowing outside, and its temperature is usually gentler than the open sea. That makes it ideal for families, for long-distance swimming and for kayaking.
Tavernas serving fish line the shore, while a few minutes away stand the Heraion of Perachora and the Melagavi lighthouse.
Practical notes
- About 15 km from Loutraki.
- It fills up on summer weekends — arrive early.
- Combine it with the Heraion and sunset at the lighthouse.
