visitcorinthia.comCorinthia for nature & hiking
Most people know Corinthia from the coast road. But half the region is mountain — and that is where its most striking country lies.
The mountains
- Ziria (Kyllini), 2,370 m — ski centre, fir forests, the myth of Hermes.
- Oligyrtos, where Corinthia meets the Argolid and Arcadia.
- Dourdouvana above the Feneos valley.
Water
- Lake Doxa — the most photographed landscape in the area.
- Lake Stymphalia — a protected wetland with notable birdlife.
- The sinkhole of Feneos — it swallows the water of an entire plateau.
Practical notes
- Most paths are unmarked — carry a map and GPS.
- Best seasons: spring and autumn.
- Snow lies above 1,200 m in winter.
