Nerantza belongs to the string of seaside settlements along the coast between Vrachati and Kiato. Its name refers to the citrus grown throughout the area.
What you will find
A long pebble beach, tavernas and cafes along the seafront, and the orchards of the plain behind. The sea deepens quickly here and the water is clear.
The settlement lives intensely in summer, with many holidaymakers from Athens and Corinth.
History and character
Nerantza was founded by people from Trikala Korinthias, which is why its patron saint is Agios Vlasios, as in Trikala. Its church, a single-aisled basilica, was built in 1835.
The French traveller Pouqueville recorded the village as Nérantza in the early 19th century. Today, besides farming, Nerantza is a summer destination with an organised beach and places to stay.
Practical notes
