Krines is a village in the Municipality of Velo-Vocha, 15.3 km west of Corinth and about 4.2 km from Vrachati.
What to expect
The village lies on the plain between ancient Sikyon and ancient Corinth, at about 40 metres, and had 1,033 permanent residents in the 2021 census. Until 1918 it was called Imvraimbei. The economy is based on farming: citrus fruit, apricots, sultanas and olive oil.
History and character
The village lies between ancient Sikyon and ancient Corinth, and the road that linked the two cities still runs through it. Very close by, at Tarsina, stands the 14th-century Byzantine Church of the Transfiguration. Citrus fruit, apricots, sultana grapes and olives are grown around the village.
