In the heart of the Nemea vineyards, the Archaeological Museum links, with one ticket, the archaeological site, the Temple of Zeus and the Stadium where the Nemean Games were held.
What to see
The exhibits date from Early Helladic to Early Christian times. Highlights include 15th-century BC gold jewellery, finds from the sanctuaries and objects that illuminate the athletes’ world.
The Nemean Games
The Nemea were panhellenic games first held in 573 BC. The well-preserved stadium, with a 178-metre track and room for up to 40,000 spectators, survives together with the vaulted athletes’ entrance tunnel.
