Ancient Corinth

Ancient CorinthA must-see in Corinthia

Ancient Corinth was one of the most powerful city-states of antiquity, thanks to its strategic position on the Isthmus, controlling trade between two seas. The archaeological site is dominated by the imposing Temple of Apollo with its archaic monolithic columns, along with the Roman forum, the Peirene Fountain and a rich Archaeological Museum. High above the city stands Acrocorinth, the medieval fortress with breathtaking views. The site is also linked to the Apostle Paul, who preached here in the 1st century. It is one of the most rewarding visits in the entire Peloponnese.
