Xylokeriza

Xylokeriza is a small village south-east of Corinth, in the belt between the town and the Saronic coast.

Its character

A quiet farming settlement surrounded by olive groves and vines. Most people pass it on the way to Kechreai and Almyri without realising they are in the heart of the ancient Corinthian countryside.

What is around

Kechreai with its submerged ancient harbour, Loutra Oreas Elenis and Acrocorinth.

History and character

Xylokeriza lies north of the Oneia mountains. It was officially recorded as a settlement in 1845 and became the seat of its own community in 1928.

Today the community of Xylokeriza also includes Agia Paraskevi, Thymariona, Agios Dimitrios, Panorama and Kechries, with the sunken ancient harbour of Corinth.
