visitcorinthia.comKokkoni
Kokkoni lies on the coastal strip between Vrachati and Kiato, in one of the most densely settled and fertile parts of the region.
What you will find
A beach of pebble and sand, tavernas and cafes near the water, and behind the settlement the orchards and vineyards of the Corinthian plain.
It is a typical holiday settlement: quiet in winter, full in August, with many second homes.
History and character
The traveller Ludwig Salvator described it in 1876 as a village by the sea with 80 houses and two churches, Agios Vasileios and Agios Nikolaos. In 1912 it became a separate settlement that included Poulitsa and Chatzimoustafas, today’s Evangelistria. It was an independent community from 1927 to 1997.
