Ano Tarsos lies 50.4 km west of Corinth, roughly 14.4 km from Derveni.
What to expect
One of the highest villages in Corinthia, above 1,000 metres, near Kato Tarsos and north of the Feneos plain, with very few permanent residents. Near the village is a sinkhole about 40 metres deep with stalactites, and the springs of a tributary of the Olvios river. The area also has the Cave of the English, a refuge for British paratroopers during the Occupation, and Tarsos castle.

Practical notes
- Snow often blocks the road in winter — check before setting out.
- The sinkhole is not for untrained visitors; keep away from the edge.
- Plan food and services in the larger villages of the Feneos area.
