Aidonia is a hillside village in the Nemea area, 33 km west of Corinth and about 23.9 km from Vrachati.
What to expect
The village stands at about 340 metres near the bank of the Asopos, looking out over the vineyards of Nemea. It is known for its Mycenaean cemetery of chamber tombs, excavated in 1978–1980; the so-called Aidonia Treasure is now displayed at the Archaeological Museum of Nemea. There are waterfalls nearby, the easier one about a 15-minute walk away. Locals grow vines and olives and raise livestock, and there is a taverna at the entrance to the village.
